CURATORIAL FRAMEWORK

The curatorial framework of the exhibition has been shaped by Prof. Dr. Merve Güven Özkerim and Başak Burcu Apaydın. The project adopts an interdisciplinary approach that examines human–machine interaction through the lenses of gender, data politics, and anonymous modes of production. This curatorial perspective positions technology not merely as a tool, but as a cultural and political actor, forming the conceptual foundation of the exhibition narrative.

ARTIST STATEMENTS

Through their own words, artists articulate the motivations, contexts, and questions that shaped their practice within the Human & Machine.

I see the relationship between humans and machines not as opposition, but as choreography. In works like Ropa sucia and Pace, I use algorithms to visualize the dialogue between poetry, spoken language, and body language, translating voice into movement and gesture into data, revealing how meaning travels between flesh and code.

In “Mis-Predicted Panorama I”, I explore the paradox between artificial intelligence and artificial ignorance. Ancient landscapes and archaeological objects serve as visual elements, inviting viewers to reconsider the relationship between technology and human understanding.

The biases that render women’s labour invisible never fall silent; they become data, flow into algorithmic models, and resonate through new cycles.
